With the NFL’s return for the 2025-2026 season, fans often face a new reality for watching football on TV: Subscribe or skip the game.

While NFL games used to be limited to cable channels, the modern NFL has a number of partnerships with cable networks and streaming platforms. This means you need access to the standard cable channels, plus a Prime, Peacock, and Netflix subscription to catch all the games exclusive to those platforms.

With so many cable and streaming platforms holding broadcast rights to NFL games, fans of nearly every team in the league will need to subscribe to at least one subscription service to watch all of their favorite teams’ games this season.

To find out which fans face the biggest streaming bill this season, our team at All About Cookies analyzed each team’s 2025-2026 NFL TV schedule and found out how many premium games fans of each team will have to pay to watch this season.

Key findings

  • The Titans and Saints are the only two teams this year without any games on premium broadcast channels or streaming services this season.
  • The Commanders, Vikings, & Dolphins each play 5 games broadcast on premium channels or streaming services this year, the most in the league.
  • Super Bowl Participants, Eagles & Chiefs have 4 streaming games each, including their rematch against each other in week 2.
  • Fans of 10 teams (Commanders, Vikings, Dolphins, Cowboys, Broncos, Lions, Steelers, Falcons, Rams, & Jets) will have to pay over $130 for subscriptions to watch their teams play this season.
  • The average amount of money fans will have to pay in subscription fees to catch every game all season is $105.79 (up from $94.17 last year).

The cost of different NFL streaming platforms

The NFL regular season consists of 272 total games, with 47 games exclusively broadcast on streaming platforms or cable networks like ESPN (Monday Night Football). That means 17% of games during the 2025-2026 season require fans to pay to watch them. That’s a 2% uptick in the number of premium games on the league schedule compared to last year, when there were “just” 41 games (15%) broadcast on cable or streaming platforms.

Table showing the costs of streaming services that stream NFL games

ESPN+ will broadcast 21 games this season, the highest number of games among streaming services. Those games represent the league’s Monday Night Football games, which ESPN has broadcast on its cable channel since 2006 and simulcasts on ESPN+. Fans who pay existing cable subscriptions should already have access to ESPN, but any cord-cutting NFL fans who want to watch on Monday nights will need a dedicated ESPN+ subscription. However, this year there is one game that will be broadcast solely on ESPN+, without an accompanying simulcast on ESPN’s cable channel. That is the week seven game between the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks.

Prime Video, home to Thursday Night Football, is another service with a monopoly on games played on a certain day of the week. As a result, Prime will broadcast almost as many games as ESPN+, with 16 scheduled for the season.

Six games will air on the NFL’s cable channel (NFL Network) and be simulcast on its streaming service (NFL+), while Netflix will broadcast a pair of games on Christmas Day for the second straight year. Peacock will be the exclusive broadcast home of a Saturday game during week 17 this year, though the teams for that game will not be announced until later in the season.

Finally, YouTube becomes an official broadcast partner of the NFL this year, as the week one game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers being played in Brazil can only be watched on YouTube. Thankfully for NFL fans, this game is being broadcast for free to all viewers, meaning an additional subscription isn’t required to watch.

The cost to watch every NFL Team online

Some NFL fans want to watch as much football as possible regardless of who’s playing, while others mostly just care about games their favorite team is playing in.

To help the second group of fans budget for cable or streaming subscriptions this season, we researched three things:

  1. How many cable or streaming-exclusive games each team is playing this season
  2. Which platforms those games will be on
  3. When in the season those games are scheduled

Using this information, we calculated how much each NFL fan base will pay in subscription costs to catch every game of their squad this year.

At the top of the list are three different teams playing five "premium" games on cable or streaming-exclusive services this year, with a different combination of platforms for each.

The Miami Dolphins play twice each on ESPN/ESPN+ and Prime Video, as well as one game on NFL Network/NFL+. The Minnesota Vikings play a single game each on ESPN, Prime Video, and Netflix, with the final two premium games on their schedule being back-to-back weeks of games played in the United Kingdom and broadcast on NFL Network. The Washington Commanders are the final five-time team this year, with two ESPN games and one each on Prime Video, NFL Network, and Netflix.

Dolphins fans paying for the relevant subscriptions on a per-game basis will have to spend over $60 to watch their team, the highest rate in the league. Those opting to pay for season-long subscriptions are looking at more than $135. Both Vikings ($48.95) and Commanders ($41.96) fans pay less on a per-game basis for streaming subscriptions to watch their teams, but will need to shell out $167.84 to have season-long access to every platform their teams play on this year, which is the highest total in the NFL.

For comparison, the average per-game cost among all NFL fans is $33.22, while the season-long average cost is $105.79.

Fans of every team except for two will have to pay for at least one streaming subscription to catch all their favorite side’s games. As we head into the season, not a single game featuring the New Orleans Saints or Tennessee Titans is scheduled to be broadcast on a premium channel or format, meaning fans of those teams can catch all the action without paying extra for subscriptions of any kind.

Methodology

All About Cookies looked at the official 2025-2026 schedule for every NFL team and found how many games each team will play that will be broadcast on premium streaming services.

We then found the current prices of the streaming services on which games will be streamed on and calculated the total amount that fans of each team will have to pay for per-game and full-season subscriptions based on when and how often their team plays on each platform.

Broadcast platforms for a number of games in the final two weeks of the season have not yet been announced, so data for those games is not included here.

Only games for which a subscription is required for most people in the country to watch were counted. That means games that can be watched on a streaming service but are also available on a free over-the-air broadcast channel (e.g., CBS games that are also on Paramount+ or NBC games on Peacock) were not included in these calculations.

Games simulcast on cable channels such as ESPN and NFL Network were included, as there is no free alternative to watching those games. Fans would need either a paid streaming service subscription or a paid cable subscription.

Prices for streaming services are accurate as of July 2025. Per-game costs are based on what it would cost to purchase a one-month subscription for the month when each game occurs, while season-long costs are based on the amount it would cost to subscribe to each service where at least one team game is being broadcast for the entire season (approximately four months).
